Sabio is a comprehensive coding bootcamp designed to meet learners where they are. There are two options for Full Stack Development courses: the Node.js or .NET track. In addition, students with previous coding experience can take Sabio’s technical assessment to begin coursework immediately. Those without experience can enroll in the PreWork program to learn everything they need to know before starting.

The rigorous full-time curriculum consists of 13 70- to 80-hour weeks. Students learn in a cohort model that promotes community and peer interaction as they work on individual and group portfolio projects. The last two weeks of every bootcamp are devoted to career preparation, during which students create impactful resumes and cover letters and engage in interview coaching sessions.

How to Sign Up For a Bootcamp With Sabio

Infosession

Enrolling in a bootcamp at Sabio is relatively simple. First, students must attend an info session to learn more about the programs, meet the Sabio team members, and hear from recent graduates about their new careers in tech. After the info session, interested students can begin the application process.

PreWork Online

Students new to software development must enroll in Sabio’s PreWork program — two courses that cover introductory knowledge of front-end web development. These courses prepare students for Sabio’s full stack coding programs and come with six hours weekly mentorship from a senior software developer.

Schedule Assessment

Those with software development experience can skip the PreWork program and take Sabio’s technical assessment. This test assesses each student’s knowledge of basic coding skills to determine if they are ready for Sabio’s bootcamps.

After completing the technical assessment, students must pursue either the Node.js Full Stack bootcamp or the .NET Full Stack program. Finally, to complete the enrollment process, students must submit a deposit and determine how they would like to finance their degree, whether that be through three monthly payments or a loan through one of Sabio’s financial partners.

Sabio Tuition Overview

Tuition for Sabio’s coding bootcamps is $15,000. This amount covers a 13- or 17-week coding bootcamp divided into two parts. In the first 11 or 15 weeks, students only practice coding. This time ensures that each student learns to think and create like a professional software engineer. The remaining two weeks are devoted to intensive job preparation to ensure students can land jobs with the industry’s top companies.

A deposit is due upon enrollment. The remainder of the tuition is split equally into three payments. Students can apply for a loan through one of Sabio’s three financial partners: Leif, Ascent, or Sallie Mae.

Coursework at Sabio is rigorous and immersive. Students can expect to spend 40 hours per week in live instruction and working on projects individually and in groups. After class, it is typical for students to spend three hours on homework every night. In addition, students often spend half a day coding on either Saturday or Sunday.

Although this is a significant time commitment, the course is designed to be completed quickly. As a result, students often finish the course in just 13 weeks and can launch their careers shortly after.

What We Like About Sabio

Accessibility

Sabio makes pursuing a career in software engineering possible for anyone, regardless of technical or educational background. Those who don’t have the necessary experience can enroll in Sabio’s PreWork program, which consists of two courses in front-end software development that adequately prepare students for Sabio coding bootcamps. In addition, students who already have some knowledge of the domain can take Sabio’s technical assessment and gain access to the program immediately.

Cohort-based program

Both of Sabio’s bootcamps are cohort-based. Students are encouraged to build community and teamwork in and out of the classroom — an essential feature for a bootcamp that requires a significant amount of time each week. Live instruction in synchronous class sessions only adds to the community feel of the program because each student is always on the same page. After graduation, Sabio gives students access to the Alumni Room — a program where graduates can network with other cohorts.

Career Support

Sabio provides professional development in various ways. For example, the last two weeks of both programs are devoted to preparing students for job placement — efforts to this end include courses on resume and cover letter creation, LinkedIn optimization, and interview coaching. After graduation, students gain access to the Alumni Room and Hackathons, an excellent (and competitive) networking opportunity. In addition, all alums are invited to attend Sabio’s monthly speaker series that features industry leaders.

What We Don’t Like About Sabio

No part-time options

Although many tech bootcamps offer part-time options to complete their programs, Sabio only has a full-time option. Those who can commit to a 70- to 80-hour work week might appreciate Sabio’s bootcamps for their relatively brief term. Still, the significant time commitment could make this program impossible to pursue for many. Students with substantial responsibilities might do better with a coding bootcamp that offers part-time options on a longer timeline.

No job placement guarantee

Unlike other tech bootcamps, Sabio does not offer its graduates a job placement guarantee. Coupled with its relatively high tuition, some students might need more time to gather finances before they enroll at Sabio. However, Sabio does offer plenty of job-related resources. This includes devoting the last two weeks of every bootcamp to preparing students for the job market. Although this doesn’t equate to a job placement guarantee, it does provide graduates with the knowledge and resources to find a job independently.
