A leader in bootcamp-driven education, Springboard offers a variety of tech-oriented bootcamps. Students can complete each program in six months or less with a self-paced curriculum, individualized mentoring, and career support services. In addition, most Springboard bootcamps come with a job guarantee, which means that any student who doesn’t secure a job is eligible for a full tuition refund.

Since Springboard is a flexible learning environment, there is no formal, full-time enrollment option. Students who want to complete courses sooner can easily devote more time each week to achieve their goals.

Application Next Steps

After completing the application, a Springboard admissions counselor will reach out immediately to discuss the program and gather more information about your experience and interest. If the interview goes well, the admissions counselor will grant a provisional acceptance allowing you to take the technical assessment. The technical assessment takes about one hour, and your admissions counselor will ask you to complete it within 24 hours.

After passing the technical assessment, your admissions counselor will offer an official acceptance. To secure your spot, pay the tuition deposit of $500 and select your intended start date.

Springboard Tuition Overview

Springboard provides four payment options: one upfront payment, monthly payments, deferred tuition, or financing with a Springboard financial partner.

A tuition discount is available for students who make their tuition payment upfront and in full, making this the most affordable option. Students who opt for monthly payments pay a fixed amount for only the months they need, for a maximum of six months.

Those who opt for deferred tuition pay only the $500 tuition deposit to secure their seat and make no further payments until they have graduated and found a job that meets salary expectations. Although this program is the most accessible, deferred tuition students pay more over time than students who pay upfront or opt for monthly payments.

Lastly, some students may finance their education through Climb — a Springboard financial partner. This option allows students to make low monthly payments, although interest fees may apply.

A Typical Week at Springboard

Springboard encourages its students to spend an average of 15-20 hours per week completing coursework. Coursework will vary by module, but students can expect a balance of pre-recorded lectures and interactive exercises specific to their program of study. While 15-20 hours per week is recommended, students are welcome to devote more time to their studies and complete the program faster.

Springboard specializes in “mentor-guided learning.” All Springboard mentors are tech professionals with years of industry and teaching experience. Each student is assigned a mentor based on their start date, and the mentorship continues throughout the program. Students can expect weekly one-on-one video calls, accountability check-ins, and on-demand calls as needed.

In addition to the self-paced curriculum and weekly calls with their mentor, students receive career coaching from day one. Services include weekly one-on-one calls with a career coach to draft a job search strategy, conduct mock interviews, and learn salary negotiation techniques. As a bonus, career services continue to support students for up to six months after graduation.

Additional Features

Low upfront cost

Students who enroll in Springboard’s Deferred Tuition program only need to pay a $500 deposit to secure their spot and begin their studies. In addition, this payment plan only requires further payments after the student has graduated and secured a job that meets salary expectations.

Job guarantee

For most of its bootcamps, Springboard provides students with a job guarantee. Students who don’t receive a job within six months after graduation are eligible for a full tuition refund. Similarly, students enrolled in the Deferred Tuition program will not have to repay their tuition.

What We Like About Springboard

Mentor-guided learning

Springboard’s unique learning model involves a combination of self-paced and mentor-guided learning. This ensures that students get all the benefits of learning at their own pace while receiving individualized attention from an industry expert. In addition to weekly one-on-one calls with their mentor, Springboard students can request on-demand calls from the larger mentor community at any time.

Prep courses

While not all Springboard bootcamps require previous experience to enroll, some — like Data Science and Software Engineering — do. To make these bootcamps possible for students new to the industry, Springboard offers prep courses to fill in any knowledge gaps. Each course is six to eight months long and teaches students everything they need to know to prepare for a Springboard bootcamp.

What We Don’t Like About Springboard

No full-time options

While Springboard’s self-paced, part-time curriculum is an excellent fit for students seeking a flexible learning environment, there may be better options for students looking for a full-time, immersive program. With an estimated completion date of six months, Springboard doesn’t offer the quick turnaround that a full-time bootcamp can provide. Students looking to make a faster career change might consider looking elsewhere.
